A passion for photography

During my travels around the world I have met people expressiong different life stories and enjoying Mother nature in all her glory and different cultures. From these interactions my passion for photography has grown. Actually sprouted to such an extent that I have left the the day to day “normal” commercial business life behind me. Now I devote most of my energy to develop as a photographer - to discover and through opportunities enjoy, learn and come to new insights.

I build my photography on my hypothesis; out of what seemingly could be perceived as damaged grows something new, fresh and beautifull. My photography is a wish of nearness to nature, get to know people, their perspectives and interests, find cultures and approaches to life that deviate from my own experience’s. These meetings where I refreshingly meet and learn from my prejudgments.

Today my photography brings me closer to Mother nature where I get to enjoy her beauty and the interactions with woman and men in different life situations. Meetings where I get insights in the power and the healing effects from photography.

I would love to get in contact with you. If you are looking for a photographer - portraits, fine art, event, wedding please call me at +46 70 7487654 or at peter@11261.se

Nature

Be Compassionate Towards all Living Things

Our amazing nature; from north to south, east to west, from north pole to south pole ... all this beautiful as part of our history and our future. So changeable and strong and at the same time so fragile. A place to nurture and enjoy in the present - the grandiose but also in the little that often passes us by.

Some of us live on this Earth as if we have another planet set up somewhere in the universe that we plan to move to once this one gets too filled with litter. Others in a mission to live in harmony with oneself and all living creatures; to leave the planet a little bit of a better place than it was when we got here.

Personaly I identifying with this last group, making an effort to live each day like it’s Earth Day and treating all creatures around with due respect.

More than ever this mindset is necessary to protect the planet from the many destructive practice’s humans have developed over the years. So, what is the best way to see this happen for generations to come? Teach our children is one! But most important from my perspective; we as adults must start to act responsible role-models! Starting every morning looking at our own reflection from the mirror - asking ourself, what am I and what makes me happy and enjoyable? And then act accordingly!

I have come to understand that ”if you can see God in all, you can see God at all”. While this doesn’t need to take a religious twist, it gets to the heart of being able to recognize the intrinsic worth of all things. Current culture teaches us to assign worth based on dollar value, but there are many, many things in this world that are more important than profit.

“Out of all those millions and millions of planets floating around there in space, this is our planet, this is our little one, so we just got to be aware of it and take care of it.” – Paul McCartney

Portraits and fine art nude

Interested in following into a 1/125 second meeting that turns into a beautiful image - portrait or fine art - please Contact me.

Walt Withman's poem "I sing the body electric" has had a significant impact on me in photographing women and men. All that noticeably beautiful, side by side with inner beauty. The glorious human being.

Inspiration from Walt Whitmans “I sing the body electric”

This is the female form, A divine nimbus exhales from it from head to foot, It attracts with fierce undeniable attraction, I am drawn by its breath as if I were no more than a helpless vapor, all falls aside but myself and it,

Books, art, religion, time, the visible and solid earth, and what was expected of heaven or fear’d of hell, are now consumed, Mad filaments, ungovernable shoots play out of it, the response likewise ungovernable, Hair, bosom, hips, bend of legs, negligent falling hands all diffused, mine too diffused, Ebb stung by the flow and flow stung by the ebb, love-flesh swelling and deliciously aching,

Limitless limpid jets of love hot and enormous, quivering jelly of love, white-blow and delirious juice,

Bridegroom night of love working surely and softly into the prostrate dawn, Undulating into the willing and yielding day, Lost in the cleave of the clasping and sweet-flesh’d day.

This the nucleus—after the child is born of woman, man is born of woman, This the bath of birth, this the merge of small and large, and the outlet again.

Be not ashamed women, your privilege encloses the rest, and is the exit of the rest, You are the gates of the body, and you are the gates of the soul.

The female contains all qualities and tempers them, She is in her place and moves with perfect balance,

She is all things duly veil’d, she is both passive and active, She is to conceive daughters as well as sons, and sons as well as daughters.

As I see my soul reflected in Nature, As I see through a mist, One with inexpressible completeness, sanity, beauty, See the bent head and arms folded over the breast, the Female I see.

The male is not less the soul nor more, he too is in his place, He too is all qualities, he is action and power, The flush of the known universe is in him,

Scorn becomes him well, and appetite and defiance become him well, The wildest largest passions, bliss that is utmost, sorrow that is utmost become him well, pride is for him, The full-spread pride of man is calming and excellent to the soul,

Knowledge becomes him, he likes it always, he brings every thing to the test of himself, Whatever the survey, whatever the sea and the sail he strikes soundings at last only here,

(Where else does he strike soundings except here?)

The man’s body is sacred and the woman’s body is sacred, No matter who it is, it is sacred—is it the meanest one in the laborers’ gang?

Is it one of the dull-faced immigrants just landed on the wharf?

Each belongs here or anywhere just as much as the well-off, just as much as you, Each has his or her place in the procession.

(All is a procession, The universe is a procession with measured and perfect motion.)

Do you know so much yourself that you call the meanest ignorant?

Do you suppose you have a right to a good sight, and he or she has no right to a sight?

Do you think matter has cohered together from its diffuse float, and the soil is on the surface, and water runs and vegetation sprouts?

For you only, and not for him and her?

A visual rite of passage

Are you interested in photos for inner freedom give me a call?

At a time when the tempo of everyday life accelerates, truths are exchanged at a furious pace, where the truth of today is false in the morning, it's easy to lose the balance and the contact with oneself.

In the midst of this hectic existence, we long for being seen and honestly respected as those we are, without worrying about having to respond to negative reactions from the surroundings. But often, for various reasons, fear sneak up on us and we compromise, diminish ourselves and our qualities - adapt to what we think the environment request.

A passion for people

In my photography, my passion, where the meeting with people is central, either in a portrait photography, at an event, a spontaneous meeting in the city, meetings with the wealthy and the less fortunate or with unknown souls on trekking experiences in Asia or in the Nordic mountains, a "fine art "photography, I am faced with questions like;

What are we hiding from? Why is it so hard to be sincere in front of myself and others? How do I carry my femininity and my masculinity – and what does it mean? Why is it so hard to naturally relate to my body, my nudity, my sexuality, my beauty, my anger and my strength? How can I recover my rightful place and space? What is beauty and what defines it?

As a photographer I meet women and men who want to regain control over their identity – fully live their physical and spiritual self ... accept and appreciate their body, sexuality, regain their rightful place, live and share qualities with others openly and without shame.

A photo experience

I have a deep passion being part colaborating with people being photographed. The beauty of the process – from a first spontaneous meeting, the planning together, meeting up in the studio or at a location and then the experience looking at the photos and the insights and energy they create.

People who walk into the studio or location with anxiety, excitement, sometimes with their guard up for protection. Many asking themselves; is it ok to shine, allow myself to be and express my beauty, be the best I can and allow myself to love myself?

And then – to see people unfold in front of the camera, to see their beauty shine through... that is a God given gift and a most beautiful experience.

From these experiences i have in my photography come to understand the healing power and the strengthening effects of photography for body and soul. The power and the invitation to change perspective – to unfold the truth.

Visual Rite of passage

If you, woman, man or couple are curious about a "Visual Rite of Passage" please contact me.

Together we will use the camera as a therapeutic tool, we create images that show a way to see yourself in a new light. To shake off the fake self-image and get to know your own beauty and qualities during a photo session. All tailored to your needs.

The process is spontaneous, joyful, playful, exploratory and intuitive. Together, we create the images, in a studio or at a location, photo art that you keep for yourself or share with others.

Photo flow

We meet to talk through the photo session together; we review purpose, expectations, feelings, fears, hopes, concerns and challenges. Together, we decide on the conceptual framework, how to visualise. We review how the images may be used and the photographer sign confidentiality agreement.

We decide day and time for the photography and soon after our meeting, we meet again and go through a story board that we use as inspiration during the photography.

At the location, we go through the day, talk through thoughts and emotions before we start. And then we begin – slowly, playful and intuitive. We find our way to the photos we want to create.

After the photo session, I make a first selection of pictures. We meet and go through the photos - you share your impressions. Then you select your favourites, we delete photos that are not appropriate. Then I finalize the collection of photographs and hand them over to you.
